This was a special bottling of Babaresco for the renowned restaurant Guido da Costigliole. In 1978, this restaurant was in the town of Costigliole d'Asti, Asti, Italy, about 15km northeast of Barbaresco. In 2002 the restaurant was moved to the Relais San Maurizio just outside Santo Stefano Belbo, Cuneo, Italy, about 15km east of Barbaresco.

The front label says:
Nel cuore della zona tipica, 130 Ha di vigneti lavorati con competenza e attaccamento alle nobili tradizioni locali.
which translates as:
In the heart of the typical geographic area, 130 Ha of vineyards worked with competence and devotion to the noble local traditions.

The back label says:

Questo prodotto, vinificato nel fermentino n. 16, e stato riservato, gia all svinatura a GUIDO di COSTINIGLIOLE. Invecchianto per 3 anni in rovere di Slavonia, espresse tutte le caratteristiche proprie del Barbaresco, approda esclusivamente ai prestigio si tavoli di ristoranti famosi a livello mondiale. Il guidizio, ora, all'Intenditore che con la sua competene scelta crea le premesse e infonde l"impregno per raggiungere queste massime espressioni di qualita nel l'enologia e nella gastronomia.

Aged for 3 years in Slavonia oak, and expressing all the peculiar features of barbaresco, it exclusively lands on the tables of world-famous restaurants. Now it is time for the Connoisseur to judge. He, with his competent choice, creates the bases and infuses the commitment allowing these highest expressions of quality in oenology and gastronomy to be reached.
The last part indicates that this bottles is No. 9943 of 10,000 bottles in this batch.
