Piranha Waterdance
was inspired by a trip the Krankl family took to
Peru where they fished for piranha. The labels of both these wines come from photos
that Manfred took of piranha on this trip.

- 88% Grenache, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Petite Sirah, and 2% Touriga Nacional.
- Aged about 21 months in 6% new French oak, 94% used oak (various sizes).
- 42% whole clusters (all Grenache).
- 51% Cumulus Estate, 21.5% Eleven Confessions Estate, 18% The Third Twin Estate,
and 9.5% Bien Nacido vyd.
- Bottled into 1,199 cases of 750s and 600 magnums.
- According to Manfred,
Shakti symbolizes the feminine principle, the activating power
and energy.
- Piranha Waterdance Syrah is …
- 81% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Touriga Nacional, and 1% Graciano.
- Entirely from estate vineyards:
35% Eleven Confessions, 34% Third Twin, and 31% Cumulus.
- Spent about 21 months in French oak barrels, of which 54% were new.
- 26% whole clusters.
- Bottled into 1,839 cases of 750s and 600 magnums.
I received a 6-pack of each (but I lost the photos of my boxes).
The Shakti Grenache came in a shorter bottle with a black capsule in blue tissue paper.
The Piranha Waterdance Syrah came in a taller bottle with a black capsule in black tissue paper:

The winery has confirmed that no 3L bottles of 2014 Shakti Grenache or
Piranha Waterdance Syrah were made.
