1990 Giacosa Barolo Riserva Falletto with Chris Thile
on FWG's Front Porch, Delmar, NY (10/16/2021)

Mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile played the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Chris is a serious Nebbiolo lover. After his concert, he came over to our place to drink Nebbiolo. Specifically, the 1990 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto Riserva. It was glorious. Due to the coronavirus, we stayed outside on our front porch. It was chilly, but we chatted on the porch until 2:30am. Then I drove him to his hotel in Troy.

Prepping the wine at 4:30pm.

These are brief unedited clips taken with my phone. If you only watch one, make it the third one.

Chris shows his mad skillz:

Chris ends the concert with an a cappella sing-a-long.
[Very quiet for the first 10 seconds.]

Conclusion

Great concert. Great wine. Great conversation. What more could one want?

Chris and I had met at a wonderful dinner in NYC put on by our mutual friend Ed Zimmerman.
We had dinner again in Troy, NY, after a Punch Brothers' show at this same Troy Music Hall.
