Astorian Bottlings

A man named Ted Astorian lived in the Bay Area and loved Giacosa wines. He had a house in the south of France and would visit Bruno regularly. Bruno and his wife and children even visited him in France. In his enthusiasm, he decided to be the first US importer for Giacosa. My understanding is that he sold some, but not many, which meant that he had to keep them for himself.

I don't know why they have a different total number of bottles from the European bottles (1300 instead of 8250). My guess is that this is the number of bottles he imported. I discussed this with Bruna and this is all I know.
