Several friends had raved about this place, and it lived up to every ounce of that praise.
Among those friends were John and Linda who set up this dinner.
Appetizer
Three of us had the Escargots Pastilla Style: Escargot in phyllo pastry, beurre Bourguignonne,
fricassé of mushrooms, Cognac crème.
Entrée
I had the Poulet à la Gaston Gérard: Roast chicken, comté cheese, paprika, cream, mustard,
pommes Grenailles.
Amy had the Jarret d'Agneau: Braised lamb shank, fondant potatoes, haricots verts,
fava beans, lamb jus.
Dessert
I had the Fondant au Chocolat: Warm chocolate fondant over crème Anglaise, red berry coulis.
Served with pistachio ice cream.
Amy had the Vacherin: Meringue cookies, vanilla ice cream, raspberry sorbet and
crème chantilly, topped with red berry compote.

Pop and pour. Lovely, mellow port style wine made from 50% Teroldego, 25% Lagrein,
and 25% Dornfelder. A nice winter sipping wine. I would have easily drunk more,
but I had to drive. (90 points)
