Stein Grenache & Stock Syrah
2012 Grenache and Syrah from Third Twin, Eleven Confessions, Cumulus, White Hawk Vyds.
- The Stein Grenache is
- 76% Grenache, 16% Syrah and 8% Mourvedre.
- Aged 22 months in mostly used oak (14% new).
- 29% whole clusters.
- 53% from Eleven Confessions, 29% from Cumulus, 9% The Third Twin, and 9% Bien Nacido Vineyards.
- The Stock Syrah is
- 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petite Sirah, 2% Viognier and 1% Mourvedre.
- 47% Eleven Confessions, 27% Cumulus, 17% Third Twin, and 9% White Hawk Vineyards.
- spent 21 months in 52% new French oak barrels. The rest were one to three years old.
- 32% whole clusters.
- These wines shipped together in Spring 2015.
- The Grenache and Syrah were originally both named Sticks & Stones.
However, another winery objected to this use since they make a similarly named wine.
So SQN changed the name of this wine.
I received a 6-pack of each. Both came in black tissue. The Syrah is the taller bottle.
